Police Chase Of Stolen Pickup Near Downtown LA Ends Without Incident

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police pursued a suspect in a stolen pickup in Los Angeles in a chase began around 7 p.m. Friday in Highland Park.

SKY9's Stu Mundel was overhead as the suspect drove erratically on the surface streets of the Westlake District.

The suspect made his way into MacArthur Park around 7:10 p.m.

He ducked in and out of traffic, and even bumped another vehicle at one point.

Around 7:30 in Echo Park, he slowed down in efforts to elude police.

Earlier in the chase, the suspect blew through several red lights.

At 7:35, the driver got out of the truck and surrendered to officers without incident. A female passenger also got out of the cab. Both were taken into custody.
