LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Police chased a stolen car suspect around the Southland Friday evening.

The suspect was driving quickly and erratically in dark-colored Honda Accord, police said.

The unidentified suspect drove on the 5, 110 and 134 freeways.

The suspect was weaving and bobbing between other vehicles often in excess of 90 mph.

The chase started in the Burbank area, authorities said.

In downtown Los Angeles, the suspect got off the freeway and took surface streets.

On surface streets, the suspect drove through red lights, went up on a curb and nearly side-swiped several vehicles.

In trying to get on the 110 Freeway, the suspect clipped another vehicle and appeared to lose a mirror.

The suspect began driving in the HOV lanes to evade authorities.

The suspect was in the San Fernando Valley, downtown Los Angeles, Burbank, Toluca Lake, Florence, Boyle Heights, the Mission district and south LA.

At various times during the chase, both the LAPD and CHP led the chase.

In Studio City, the car slowed to a stop and a passenger jumped out.  The driver continued on going south on Coldwater Canyon Avenue.

The chase lasted almost an hour and ended at Coldwater and Cherokee. The suspect reportedly jumped out of the vehicle. Police said he remains at large.

Officials said the female passenger was in custody.
