Police Chase Reckless Driving Suspect Around Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com)  — Police chased a suspect wanted for reckless driving around Compton Sunday evening.

The chase started around 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Officials believed the suspect was driving under the influence.

The chase ended about 5:45 p.m. with two people taken into custody, officials said.,

The pursuit ended at S. Oleander Avenue and W. Laurel Street in Compton.

Kevin Takumi, reporting in Sky2, said there was also a report that the two suspects threw guns out of the window during the chase.

During the brief chase, police said the suspect drove on the wrong side of the road and ran several red lights.

Officials said no weapons were recovered in the vehicle.

No collisions were reported during the chase.
