Police Arrest Possible Stolen SUV Suspect In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  Police arrested a man at the end of a pursuit of a possible stolen SUV Friday in South Los Angeles.

Officers with the Newton Division began chasing the subject about 5:40 p.m.

The suspect was first chased on the southbound 110 Freeway.

During the chase, the driver nearly hit several vehicles.

After moving to the 105 westbound, the suspect spun out near the Crenshaw Avenue exit off-ramp and ran.

Police chased the suspect as he ran down several alleys in Hawthorne.

Stu Mundel, in Sky9, said the suspect could be seen trying to hide in various carports.

Mundel also reported that the suspect was taken into custody after "a long and extensive" foot pursuit.
