The driver varied between controlled and reckless driving, reaching speeds up to 60 mph on surface streets and driving on the shoulder of the 405 Freeway.

The driver exited the freeway and moved onto surface streets in the San Fernando Valley. While in Reseda, a white Dodge Durango started chasing the suspect until he crashed into a curb near Hesperia Avenue and Vanowen Street.

The driver and passenger ran out of the car, and both were quickly detained by police. LAPD said the occupants of the white Dodge Durango were family members of the suspect.
