Man Taken Into Custody After Hours-Long Standoff On 60 Freeway

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man who faced off with police Tuesday on a major Southland freeway has been taken into custody.

Officers from the Ontario Police Department's special weapons tactical team used a Taser device on the unidentified man, bringing the standoff on the 60 Freeway to an end shortly after 10 p.m.

An ambulance was expected to assess the man and possibly take him to a hospital.

The standoff unfolded about 6:10 p.m. on the thoroughfare in Ontario.

Authorities said both sides of the thoroughfare at Euclid Avenue were shut as well as Euclid Avenue itself for several hours.
