Police: 2 Vehicles Were 'Possibly Racing' When Car Lost Control, Hit Tree; 1 Injured

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two vehicles were possibly racing when one driver lost control and hit a tree in Pomona.

Responding officers located a juvenile driver at the scene of the crash, which unfolded just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the area of Garey and Lexington avenues.

That driver was airlifted to County-USC Medical Center for treatment and was said to have undergone emergency surgery.

The second vehicle did not stop, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
