Police: 2 Boys Stabbed During Brawl Involving At Least 20 Kids In O.C.

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two teenagers were stabbed during an altercation involving at least 20 kids in Santa Ana.

The boys, ages 14 and 17, were both transported to the hospital; one had minor injuries, while the second had serious injuries.

Police said the kids were exiting a continuation school when 20 to 25 kids started fighting.

A couple of kids were detained but officers were searching for multiple suspects.

"At this time, we have a group of students detained here.

"The residential area where we are looking for the main suspects, we have three detained. We are continuing to search for more," said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.

The incident unfolded at Fairview Street and Civic Center Drive just after 3 p.m.

A motive for the stabbings was not known.

No further information was immediately available.
