Planes Clip Wings At Burbank's Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Officials say two planes clipped wings at Burbank's Bob Hope Airport Saturday morning.

The Southwest Airlines' 737 planes tapped wings near gates A1 and A2 shortly before 8 a.m., according to Burbank Airport spokesperson Lucy Burghdorf.

220 Passengers were deplaned after the incident and no injuries were reported.

"We were just on our plane and we were backing up, and we feel this bump," passenger Joni Vaughn said. "I was like 'that's not normal'."

While a flight to Phoenix was backing up, it clipped the wing of a plane that was heading to Sacramento.

Some passengers were held at Burbank for later flights, while some were shuttled to LAX to reach their destinations.
