Plane Makes Emergency Landing In LA River

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A plane made an emergency landing Friday along a riverbed in the city of Vernon, police said.

The aircraft made the landing in the Los Angeles River just west of Bandini and Atlantic boulevards around 1:15 p.m. after experiencing mechanical problems, according to police.

County firefighters were sent to the scene to assist the Vernon Fire Department, but their response was
canceled, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.
