Plane Lands Safely At Van Nuys Airport Without Nose Gear

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A small airplane landed safely at Van Nuys airport on Saturday night without the use of its frontmost landing gear.

The LA Airport Police Department said that at about 11 p.m., the 6-passenger Beachcraft airplane touched down at the airport without the use of its "nose gear," or the landing gear that is deployed from underneath the nose of the plane.

Photos show the aircraft tilting forward on grass next to the runway.

No injuries were reported.
