Pilot In Ultralight Plane Crash In Hawthorne Was Contestant On 'The Bachelor'

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — The pilot killed in the ultralight plane crash near Hawthorne Municipal Airport Monday was a contestant on the reality television series "The Bachelor," according to "Entertainment Tonight."

The victim was identified as Erin Storm of Venice. She was eliminated in the third episode of the 2008 season.

Former Bachelor contestant Matt Grant told ET in an exclusive interview that he was "massively shocked" to learn of Storm's death.

Grant told the syndicated entertainment news program that "she was genuine, self-assured, beautiful and hilarious."

According to Storm's Facebook page, the San Diego native started flying for Pacific Blue Air since 2013.

Friend Joshua Daniel posted a memorial for the San Marcos High School graduate.

The Airborne XT-912 Storm was flying crashed around noon Monday about a quarter-mile off the west end of the airport.

Storm was in full cardiac arrest when she was pulled from the burning wreckage. Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
