Mother, Daughter Shot By Gunman At Bus Stop In Pico-Union Area

PICO-UNION (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday searched for a gunman who opened fire on a mother and her two daughters at a bus stop in the Pico-Union area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting took place in the area of West Pico Boulevard and South Westlake Avenue.

Upon their arrival, paramedics transported the mother to a hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds to her stomach. She was listed in critical condition.

One of her daughters was also transported for treatment of a gunshot wound to her leg. An update on her condition was not immediately available.

No other injuries were reported.

A description of the suspect has not been provided.

Detectives believe the gunman may have ties to a street gang.

The investigation is ongoing as the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
