Photo Released Of Man Found Dead In Car During Routine Patrol In Canyon Country

CANYON COUNTRY (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Friday continued their investigation into the death of man in Canyon Country.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a Santa Clarita Sheriff's deputy observed a blue Honda Accord, around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, that was illegally parked on the shoulder of Golden Valley Road near the Robert Lee Parkway.

The deputy discovered the body of Jose David Flores inside the trunk of the vehicle when he stopped to conduct an investigation.

Authorities towed the vehicle to the Coroner's office. It remains unclear if the incident was criminal.

Deputies released a photo of Flores in hope that the public will recognize him and provide information to assist in the investigation.
