Philly Cheesesteak-Style Hot Dog To Debut At Dodger Stadium

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The famed Dodger Dog is about to get a little cheesy.

In honor of the Dodgers' four-game homestand against the Philadelphia Phillies starting Monday, concession stands at Dodger Stadium will offer the Philly Dog, a "Super Dodger Dog" combined with Philly cheese steak meat, caramelized onions and melted cheese, according to officials.

The Philly Dog will be available at concession stands located on the Field, Loge and Reserve levels of Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers' second homestand of the 2014 season will also feature an appearance by 2014 Sochi Olympics luger and La Cañada native Kate Hansen, who will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Cast members of the Tony Award-winning musical "The Book of Mormon" will perform the national anthem at the game, along with a rendition of the classic "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th-inning stretch.

The first pitch will be thrown at 7:10 p.m. Auto gates at Dodger Stadium will open about 4:45 p.m.
