Phelan Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Woman In Custody

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A 57-year-old man remained in custody on Friday for allegedly killing a woman in Phelan.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 8:18 a.m. on Wednesday to a home located in the 4500 block of Jackson Lane for report of a female suffering from a gun shot wound to the head.

Once on scene, authorities located the victim in a bedroom, and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Due to the suspicious nature of her death, homicide detectives were called to the scene.

Kenneth Ray Davis, of Phelan, was subsequently found to have shot the victim when he was in the bedroom with her, deputies explained.

He is currently being held at the High Desert Detention Center on murder charges.
