STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Balthazar is an amazingly sweet 2-year-old boy that came into the shelter as a stray. He weighs 56 pounds and is all sweetness and love.

Balthazar has not had a great life and needs to learn the ropes, but he is gentle and willing. If someone is looking for an all-around great family dog and is willing to put in the work, he will be a special addition to your family.

The playful, rambunctious Giant Schnauzer is very good with children and other dogs. Originally considered a herding dog, Giant Schnauzers enjoy exercise and will be a great companion for an active walker or hiker.

Balthazar is already neutered and up to date on his shots. He also appears to be non-shedding.
