Pesticide To Be Sprayed In Nuevo In Fight Against Spread Of West Nile Virus

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — The fight against West Nile virus will ramp up Monday in Riverside County.

Crews will be spraying for mosquitoes in the town of Nuevo, which is located east of Lake Perris.

The treatment will be focused around Mystic Field and the Hemet Model Masters Airfield.

Officials say that's where they've had a high concentration of mosquitoes.

The pesticides will be sprayed between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Nearby homeowners are advised to stay inside, and keep their windows closed, even though the chemical has been approved by the EPA.

There have been no human deaths this year in Riverside County from West Nile.
