Person shot in South Bay Galleria mall in Redondo Beach
A person was shot in a popular mall Saturday afternoon, according to Lieutenant Brian Long of the Redondo Beach Police Department.
It happened around 2:19 p.m. Officers said they received a call for shots fired at the South Bay Galleria on Hawthorne Boulevard in Redondo Beach. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim with one gunshot wound to his foot.
The suspect is currently at large. He is described as a young male who ran away before getting into a dark colored vehicle in the mall parking lot and taking off.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive, and the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, police said. The reason for the shooting is still under investigation.
