Person Of Interest Questioned In Attempted Sexual Battery In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police have identified and detained a person of interest wanted for questioning in an attempted sexual battery in North Fontana.

Authorities said a 16-year-old girl was jogging on Bridlepath Drive near Foxborough Drive around 11:55 a.m. Tuesday when a man reportedly pulled his vehicle over to the curb, got out of his car and approached her.

He grabbed the teen's arm, began pulling her toward his vehicle while reportedly saying "Let's do it!" Police said the man also attempted to grope the teen.

The girl fought back and pulled away from the man. The alleged victim helped police develop a composite sketch of the suspect.

Officials said the sketch led to many tips.

On Saturday, police said the unidentified man was released while their investigation continues.
