Woman Found Murdered In Santa Ana Motel; Suspect Detained

SANTA ANA (CBSLA) – A woman was found murdered in a motel in Santa Ana Tuesday morning.

The victim, who is believed to be in her 40s, was discovered dead by Santa Ana police officers during a welfare check at around 5 a.m. in a room at the Sunshine Village Motel, located at 1427 East First St.

According to Santa Ana police, a man had been detained in Fresno in connection with the case, police said. There was no word on the exact manner of the victim's death, or a motive.

A warrant was expected to be served to search the motel. Investigators were also on their way to Fresno to question the detained suspect, police said.

The victim's name was not immediately disclosed.
