Riverside County deputies investigating "suspicious death" in Perris

Riverside County deputies are investigating a "suspicious death" that happened in Perris last week. 

They were dispatched to the 3900 block of E. Ellis Avenue near Goetz Road at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. 

A 72-year-old woman was found dead at the scene upon arrival despite attempted medical aid from medical personnel, deputies said. She has not yet been identified. 

"Due to the nature of the female's death, investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office - Central Homicide Unit were notified and responded to assume the investigation," the release said. 

Investigators did not provide any details on the circumstances surrounding the woman's death. 

No arrests have been announced in connection with the incident.
