LAPD Officer's Gun Recovered After South L.A. Robbery

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a female LAPD officer's purse and gun were stolen Friday night in a strong-arm robbery in South Los Angeles.

A large police presence descended upon the corner of Figueroa and 70th streets after the robbery, and a perimeter was established for the suspect.

As of 11 p.m., police reported that the officer's weapon had been recovered.

Officers also reported that one person was detained but a second person remained at large.

It remained unclear whether the officer was on-duty or off-duty.
