Pedestrian struck during stolen vehicle pursuit near Vernon

A pedestrian was hospitalized after they were hit by a car in the midst of a pursuit near Vernon on Sunday afternoon. 

It happened at around 1:30 p.m. as police were chasing the driver of an allegedly stolen car near Dorsey Street and E. 41st Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. 

They were following the car, a black Infiniti, when a female pedestrian was struck. The crash happened near Vernon Avenue and Central Avenue, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. 

Police arrested the suspect, who has not yet been identified, following the collision. 

Video from the scene shows the car on the sidewalk just off the road, surrounded by crime scene tape.
