Pedestrian Killed, Woman Injured In Canyon Country Crash

CANYON COUNTRY (CBSLA.com) — One person is dead and another is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Canyon Country, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Andrew Dahring told City News Service that the accident involving the pedestrians happened Tuesday night near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Mirror Way about 8:20 p.m.

Deputies described the deceased as a 65-year-old man.

The other pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, sustained multiple broken bones and massive internal injuries. She was currently listed in critical condition at an area hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said.

The driver was not detained nor charged.
