Driver Flees After Hitting, Killing Woman In Fountain Valley Street

FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBSLA) – Authorities are looking for a driver who struck and killed a woman in a Fountain Valley street overnight Sunday.

The collision occurred at around midnight at the intersection of Bushard Street and Warner Avenue, at a crossing near a 405 Freeway on-ramp. The driver sped away.

According to Fountain Valley police, officers arrived to find a woman dead at the scene. She was not immediately identified.

It's unclear if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit, police said.

A 7-Eleven employee told CBS2 that she and a co-worker were outside when they heard a loud noise and immediately knew there had been an accident.

Police do not have a description of the suspect or the vehicle. Investigators are hoping to obtain security camera footage from nearby businesses.
