Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Moving Train In Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Police investigated the circumstances surrounding a pedestrian that was fatally struck by a moving train last night.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 9:25 p.m. Friday to the 800 block of Oxnard Boulevard for report of a subject being struck by a moving train.

Once on scene, police pronounced a female victim dead near the train tracks.

A preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking northbound on the tracks when she was struck by the moving train.

Her name is being withheld pending family notification.

The investigation is ongoing.
