Pedestrian, 51, On Life Support After Being Hit By Car In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)   —   A 51-year-old Riverside resident was on life support after being struck by a car Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. at Van Buren Boulevard and Philbin Avenue, according to police.

The unidentified pedestrian was crossing the street in a crosswalk when they were struck by a Chevy Cavalier driven by a 22-year-old Riverside resident.

The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with major head trauma and the pedestrian is currently on life support, police said.

The genders of the pedestrian and the driver were not immediately available.
