Patti LaBelle Invites Man Behind Viral Online Review To Thanksgiving

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles man who caused a run on Patti LaBelle's sweet potato pies with his hilarious review will be spending the holiday with the singer.

James Wright Chanel first posted the online review of the pie on his Facebook page and within days Walmart sold out at stores across Southern California and the country.

LaBelle says James will be spending the holiday at her home in Philadelphia and she'll be cooking.

The menu includes fried turkey, brisket, leg of lamb, ribs, macaroni with lobster and shrimp and, of course, the now-famous sweet potato pie.

After the video was posted online, the pies sold at a rate of one per second for 72 hours.

If you've tried to buy one and Walmart was sold-out, don't panic: the retailer has secured an additional two million pounds of sweet potatoes so they can re-stock store shelves.
