Pasadena Fire Department Rescues Man Stuck In Palm Tree

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A search and rescue team on Monday afternoon freed a man trapped 25-feet above the ground in a palm tree in Pasadena.

Pasadena Fire Department responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. on a report that a tree trimmer was stuck in a palm tree near the corner of Adena Street and Los Robles Ave.

The Fire Department said around 4:20 p.m. that the man was conscious and trapped in dried fronds. He wasn't visible through the dried fronds, but could be heard screaming intermittently.

Bystanders said they were frightened for his life. The man's wife also showed up to the scene and was visibly concerned.

Nearly an hour into the ordeal, firefighters peeled away dried fronds and located the man, who was dangling from a tree trimming harness.

The man was then lowered to the ground and transported to the hospital in fair condition.
