Parents Warned Of Possible Child Predator In Riverside Co.

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — Parents are being warned to be on alert for a person allegedly seen snapping photos of students at elementary schools in Riverside County.

At least two instances of photo snapping by a suspicious person were reported at Good Hope and Park Avenue elementary schools within the past week.

"Sickening. Why would you want to take pictures of children," asked Shauna Yim, a parent. "It makes me think and pay attention more to the people that are here."

According to a district letter, the person seen allegedly taking photos was in a black Chrysler 300.

Wait reports that a parent also spotted a person allegedly snapping shots from a van.

"What would they be doing taking pictures of other students? Our students," asked Rachel Martinez, who has a 5-year-old daughter at Good Hope. "It's scary, you know. Regardless if they're taking pictures of our kids, those are someone else's kids."

Meanwhile, parents tell Wait that they planned to remain vigilant as police work with district officials to apprehend the suspect.
