Paramount Drive-In Reopens

PARAMOUNT (CBSLA.com) — Friday marked the grand reopening of the Paramount Drive-In.

KCAL9's Brittney Hopper reported that the theatre, which closed in the early 1990s, is making a comeback thanks to Glenn Bianchi, whose father opened the then-named Roadium Drive-In in 1947.

"This means a lot because I used to come here when I was 5 years old and used to watch the movies when my dad was working," he said.

For 65-year-old resident Manny Alvarez, the drive-in brought back memories of when he was in junior high.

"It was great. It was the era. It was the 50s. Malt shakes and Cherry Coke, and then coming to the drive-in and making out," he laughed.

The theatre will show films seven nights a week.
