Palms Apartment Residents Warned After Rash Of Home Burglaries

PALMS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday warned residents of Palms following a rash of apartment burglaries where thieves gained access via unlocked windows.

The burglars are entering apartments through first-floor bathroom windows, Los Angeles police Department officials said.

The burglaries have occurred between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the area between Venice and Palms boulevards and Overland and Hughes avenues, police said.

Most of the targeted apartments had open or unlocked windows, authorities said.

Residents were urged to close and lock all windows and to be on the lookout for small or slender suspects who may use trash cans or bins to gain
entry through small windows.

Any suspicious activity should immediately be reported, officials said.
