Palmdale Man Arrested In Connection With Alleged Cockfighting Operation

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they've arrested a man in connection with an alleged cockfighting operation in Littlerock.

The Palmdale Sheriff's Station said in a statement that Inocencio Aguirre was arrested and booked Friday on suspicion of possessing gamecocks for fighting.

The statement said a 28-count case was filed against Aguirre following a month-long investigation.

Back in February, authorities served a search warrant at a home in the 11300 block of East Avenue R4.

"The investigation led deputies to believe the suspect was involved in a large-scale cockfighting operation at his residence," the statement said.

Authorities said the scene was processed for evidence and about 150 birds were removed.

Aguirre was being held in lieu of $140,000 bail.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to call the LASD COPS Bureau (323) 981-5300.
