Palm Springs Road Closures Announced In Anticipation Of President Obama Trip

PALM SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — President Barack Obama will be in Palm Springs this weekend.

Traffic in Los Angeles shouldn't be affected.

But if you're out in the desert, you might want to make a note of street closures around the Coachella Valley.

Other streets are subject to closure without notice. The following roads will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians from Saturday through Monday at varying times.

Kirk Douglas Way between Ramon Road and El Cielo Road  through 4 p.m. Monday

Airport Center Drive between Avenue Evelita and El Placer Road through 3 p.m. Monday. Enter the airport via El Cielo Road to Tahquitz Canyon Way.

The Palm Springs Police Department is advising residents and visitors to check Nixle often for the latest information.
