Pacquiao Faces $5M Lawsuit By Fans Over Undisclosed Shoulder Injury

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The so-called "fight of the century" appears to be impacting the sports world well after its conclusion.

Fans, believing Manny Pacquiao's apparent shoulder injury was not reported properly prior to his tremendously publicized fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. over the weekend, are filing a $5 million lawsuit.

Pacquiao's lawyer says addresses the lawsuit, filed against Pacquiao and his management, as "demonstrably false". The lawsuit suggests the fighter and his team knew about the injury before the loss to Mayweather by decision on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Fans argue that the Pacquiao camp failed to reveal the injury to the Nevada Athletic Commission, which was required by law, according to The Guardian.

Pacquiao is set to undergo surgery on his shoulder and it is expected that he will be out of action for up to a year.
