Oxnard Teacher Arrested For Child Annoyance

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 41-year-old Ventura County teacher has been arrested for misdemeanor child annoyance after he allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Jorge Arellano, a math teacher at Oxnard High School, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his home after a six-month criminal investigation, police said.

Oxnard police began investigating Arellano in October 2013 after "receiving information of alleged misconduct with a student who attended Oxnard High School," Sgt. Sharon Giles said.

Arellano has been placed on paid administrative leave.
