Oxnard Man, 29, Accused Of Kidnapping Ex-Girlfriend

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — A 29-year-old Oxnard man is behind bars accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, child endangerment and possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched Thursday to a residence in North Oxnard in response to a domestic violence call.

Authorities interviewed a 24-year-old woman who told them her ex-boyfriend, Brandon Rene Guerra, had forced his way into her vehicle.

She told police that Guerra forced her to drive around Oxnard against her will. The woman's 4-year-old son was also in the car.

The woman -- a resident of Camarillo -- also told police Guerra was in possession of a firearm which he brandished during the alleged kidnapping.

Guerra was located Saturday around 2:20 a.m. during a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Hemlock Street. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police said they recovered a replica handgun in the vehicle.

Guerra was arrested for kidnapping, child endangerment, violation of a domestic violence restraining order, possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, and brandishing a firearm.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Oxnard Police at (805) 385-7740.
