Outage Leaves Thousands Of Spectrum LA Customers Without Internet

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of Spectrum customers across the Southland were without service for several hours Saturday following a cut to a large fiber optics line that serves many customers in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

Spectrum, the new name for Time Warner Cable after it was purchased by Charter Communications in 2016, said the outage began at about 3:20 p.m. Friday. Just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Spectrum reported that service had been restored.

There were reports that a crash involving a truck on a Los Angeles freeway caused the service outage.

Customers were affected from Long Beach to Victorville, though an exact number was not reported.
