Biggest Win At Oscars Had A Lot To Do With … Girl Scout Cookies!

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The Girl Scouts of Inglewood may just be the most famous troop after handing out cookies to Hollywood's hottest stars Sunday night.

"Leo, you made $30 million! C'mon," said Chris Rock, who hosted the 88th annual Academy Awards.

DiCaprio, who won the best actor Oscar for his role in "The Revanant," was captured in a photo holding a box of the cookies, which sell during this time of year.

Rock brought out 10 girls after explaining his daughters are part of a troop in New York.

They rushed down the stairs after being introduced and collected money while handing out Thin Mints, Do-si-Dos and Tangelos.

"It was really cool to see the whole crowd and how from the floor, you only see the floor people, and then when you're onstage you see the whole auditorium, the whole theater, the whole experience," one girl said.

By Monday, the troop's boxes were almost empty.

Their troop leader, who was also at the Oscars, says the money will go toward different programs for the girls.

The Girl Scouts mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.

It remains unclear how much was raised. The troop says the money, however, is going to help a lot of young girls.
