Orange Resident Killed In Ortega Highway Motorcycle Crash

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — A man from Orange was killed Sunday morning after his motorcycle hit the side of a sedan pulling a small trailer on Ortega Highway.

The crash occurred at 8:44 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. It resulted in the closure of Route 74 between Orange County and Lake Elsinore.

Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz said the 49-year-old man was driving a "high performing motorcycle."

According to CHP officials, the motorcycle struck a light blue Chevrolet Cruze that was hauling a small trailer. The driver of the car was not injured, although its airbags did deploy.
