Police Shoot Armed Man At Ontario Hotel

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — A 44-year-old man remained hospitalized Wednesday for treatment of injuries sustained in an officer-involved shooting that took place at a hotel in Ontario.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the Pomona Police Department were given a lead that a "terrorist threat suspect" was at the Quality Inn in Ontario and was possibly armed.

Ontario Police responded to the 500 block of North Vineyard Avenue, near G Street, to assist with detaining the suspect.

Upon their arrival to the hotel, officers made contact with the suspect, Alfredo Armando Morales, of Pomona, who brandished a gun at police. An officer-involved shooting subsequently occurred.

The suspect was struck by gunfire and was transported to a hospital. At this time, he remains listed in stable condition.

No officers were injured during the shooting.

Police said no victims were held hostage during the situation.

The investigation is ongoing.
