Only On 2: Good Samaritan Finds GoPro Camera While Diving In Channel Islands

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — A Ventura diver was trying to track down two females Thursday who recorded themselves surfing several years ago.

CBS2's Kaj Goldberg spoke with Kevin Brown, who found the GoPro Camera underwater, and said he is looking to return the camera to the rightful owner.

Brown explained he found the camera while lobster diving in the Channel Islands a few weeks ago.

"When I took it apart I could see it had a memory stick inside," said Brown.

Video that was recorded to the memory stick revealed two young girls who were surfing at Ventura Point.

The camera traveled about 10 miles and had been underwater for five years, dating back to June 2009.

"You could see who they are and what they were doing," Brown added. "It's kind of a mystery."

Brown said he is not looking to collect a reward, but just wants to return the memories to the owner.
