Boy Killed in Pomona Drive-By Shooting

POMONA (CBSLA.com) – A young boy was killed in a drive-by shooting in Pomona Monday night.

According to Pomona police, the shooting occurred before 6:36 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 11th Street. The victim, somewhere between 6 and 8 years of age, was inside a home when shots were fired into it from a moving car, police said. Neighbors told CBS2 they heard four to five gunshots.

Officers and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to find the child with gunshot wounds. He was then transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The exact circumstances of the shooting were not confirmed. Pomona police homicide detectives are investigating. No names were released.
