One Dead In Hollywood Freeway Crash

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) - One person was killed Friday morning in a single-car crash on the southbound 101 Freeway.

Officers responded at 3:58 a.m. to the crash site at Ardmore Avenue and Marathon Street near the Melrose Avenue off ramp where a white sports utility vehicle traveling at high speeds crashed and caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The person was taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The crash closed the off-ramp for several hours.
