Officials Identify Pedestrian Killed On Freeway In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man who was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck while running on a freeway in North Hollywood has been identified, the coroner's office said Wednesday.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Phillip Prorhorov, 42, of Van Nuys, was fatally struck by a red Toyota Tacoma on the southbound 170 Freeway at Sherman Way around 3:40 a.m. on Monday.

California Highway Patrol officers said the driver of the Tacoma, a 51-year-old North Hills resident, was not injured in the crash.

Prorhorov was pronounced dead at the scene.

It remains unclear if he exited a vehicle on the freeway or entered on foot.
