Knife-Wielding Man Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Tujunga

TUJUNGA (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Tujunga Friday afternoon.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call in the 6400 block of Olcott Street.

"Around 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, officers responded to a radio call of a male with a mental illness. When they got to the radio call, they were confronted by a suspect who was armed with a knife. The officers attempted to use a Taser and that was ineffective. At that point, an officer-involved shooting occurred," LAPD Capt. Sean Malinowski said.

No officers were injured in the incident.

An investigation is underway.
