Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting Reported In South Los Angeles

BALDWIN HILLS (CBSLA.com)   —  A deadly officer-involved shooting has been reported in South Los Angeles, officials said.

The shooting occurred in the 3700 block of Santa Rosalia Avenue in Baldwin Hills.

Officers were responding to a robbery call just after 1:40 p.m.

An unidentified female was accused of robbing a store near the Crenshaw Mall.

The female suspect was killed in the shooting. Police told CBS2's Dave Lopez a large knife was recovered next to the woman's body.

The suspect appeared to be a black woman in her 30s, Lopez reports.

The deceased fit the description of a robbery suspect, police said. When police tried to detain her, they said there was an altercation.

Police said they tried to subdue the suspect with a Taser.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
