Off-Duty Officer Injured In Crash On 60 Freeway In South El Monte

SOUTH EL MONTE (CBSLA.com) — An off-duty officer has been injured in an motorcycle crash on the 60 Freeway in South El Monte.

The accident unfolded Wednesday afternoon on the westbound lanes of the thoroughfare.

An ambulance has arrived on scene.

It's unclear how the accident happened, but the Los Angeles County Fire Department told CBS2 that an off-duty officer was involved in the crash.

All lanes of the westbound freeway just before the 605 Freeway have been shut down while crews load the officer into the ambulance.

The crash has caused traffic to be backed up for about 1 mile.
