Oak Park Man Accused Of DUI -- In Simi Valley Police Station Employee Parking Lot

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com)  —  Police in Simi Valley arrested an Oak Park man for suspected DUI early Thursday morning.

They didn't have far to go to find the suspect.

Police said Robert Klein, 56, was driving under the influence in the Tapo Canyon Police parking lot just before 1 a.m.

Klein, driving a white pickup truck, turned into the lot just as an employee went through a security gate.

Officials said Klein also parked next to the police department employee.

Through a brief conversation, the employee determined Klein was under the influence and possibly impaired and alerted co-workers.

Klein was evaluated and booked at the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said Klein's vehicle, although parked at the police station, was later towed for safekeeping.
